  • 1 standard can (8 oz / 226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Slice each triangle lengthwise into 2 strips, yielding 16 strips.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sriracha, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Stir until blended.
  4. Brush each crescent dough strip with the butter mixture using a pastry brush.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese down the length of each hot dog (optional). Wrap each hot dog with 2 strips of coated crescent dough in a spiral, overlapping slightly.
  6. Place wrapped hot dogs seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush remaining butter mixture on top and sprinkle sesame seeds if using.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes until crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown. Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.

If rolls brown too quickly but are not cooked inside, tent with foil for last 5 minutes. Use dairy-free crescent rolls and vegan hot dogs for a plant-based version.
