A quick and easy party appetizer combining creamy ricotta, spicy-sweet hot honey, and crispy prosciutto for a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240g) whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey
  • 46 slices thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Zest of half a lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (basil or thyme) for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat skillet over medium heat. Lay prosciutto slices flat without overlapping and cook for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp and golden. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat. Once cool, break into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine ricotta, minced garlic, and lemon zest. Stir gently to keep ricotta fluffy.
  3. Add red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Transfer ricotta mixture to serving dish. Drizzle hot honey evenly over the top.
  5. Scatter crispy prosciutto pieces over the dip. Add fresh herb leaves for garnish.
  6. Lightly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over everything.
  7. Serve immediately with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh veggie sticks.

Notes

Drain ricotta briefly to remove excess liquid for creamier texture. Crisp prosciutto separately and add just before serving to maintain crunch. Hot honey heat level varies; start with less and add more to taste. For a warm dip, bake at 375°F for 10 minutes and add prosciutto after baking.
