A light, fresh, and satisfying snack board featuring a colorful mix of fresh fruit, crunchy crackers, creamy cheeses, and optional dips, perfect for beach days, picnics, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Seedless grapes, washed
  • Blueberries or blackberries
  • Apple slices, thinly sliced with lemon juice to prevent browning
  • Ripe peaches or nectarines, sliced (optional)
  • Whole grain crackers (e.g., Triscuit)
  • Water crackers or rice crackers
  • Seeded crackers
  • Soft goat cheese or cream cheese (room temperature)
  • Hummus or herbed yogurt dip
  • Honey or agave drizzle (optional)
  • Fresh mint or basil leaves
  • Roasted nuts like almonds or pistachios (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and prep the fruit: Rinse all fresh fruit under cold water. Hull and halve strawberries, slice peaches or nectarines, thinly slice apples and toss them immediately with a splash of lemon juice to keep them from browning. Drain grapes and berries thoroughly to avoid sogginess.
  2. Arrange crackers on the board: Spread out the different types of crackers in small clusters around the board, leaving space for fruit and dips.
  3. Prepare cheese and dips: Place soft cheeses in small bowls or dollop artfully on the board. Spoon hummus or yogurt dip into ramekins. For cream cheese, spread gently with a butter knife.
  4. Add fresh fruit: Fill in the gaps with the prepared fruit, grouping similar colors or types together for a vibrant look. Leave small spaces so each element stands out.
  5. Garnish and finish: Scatter fresh mint or basil leaves over the board. Drizzle honey lightly over fruit clusters or cheese. Sprinkle nuts if using.
  6. Final checks: Adjust any crowded spots or gaps to make the board look inviting but not messy.

Notes

Keep fruit refrigerated and add crackers just before serving to keep them crisp. Avoid letting juicy fruit rest on crackers to prevent sogginess. Use ripe but firm fruit to maintain texture. Use small bowls to keep dips contained. Light honey drizzle adds sweetness without overpowering. For gluten-free, use almond flour crackers; for dairy-free or vegan, use cashew-based vegan cheese and coconut yogurt dips.
