Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  3. Melt 3 tablespoons unsalted butter. Using a pastry brush, coat each waffle cone inside and out with melted butter.
  4. Immediately roll or sprinkle the cones generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating all sides evenly.
  5. Place the coated waffle cones on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until crisp and golden but not burnt.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the cones cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Scoop 2-3 generous portions (about ½ cup or 125 ml total) of vanilla ice cream into each cone.
  8. Drizzle 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of dulce de leche over the ice cream, creating pretty swirls.
  9. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, or a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  10. Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast of hot, crispy cones and cold, creamy ice cream with caramel swirl.
