A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe that delivers perfectly crispy skin and tender, flaky flesh, served with a tangy lemon dill sauce.

  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6 oz / 170 g each), fresh or thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 medium lemon, zested and juiced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • ½ cup (120 ml) plain Greek yogurt (can substitute dairy-free yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it come to temperature for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Brush both sides of the fillets lightly with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 7-9 minutes, depending on thickness, until the skin is golden and crisp and the flesh flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon cooks, whisk together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice and zest, minced garlic, honey, and chopped dill in a small bowl. Adjust salt or lemon juice to taste.
  7. Remove salmon carefully with a spatula and let it rest for a minute.
  8. Spoon the lemon dill sauce over the fillets or serve on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley or extra dill if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry thoroughly to ensure crispy skin. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow even cooking. Preheat the air fryer for best results. Use a timer to avoid overcooking. Leftovers can be reheated gently in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crispiness. Substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and use dairy-free mayo for a dairy-free version.
