Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup (150g) diced fresh apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon milk (use dairy-free milk if needed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  4. Fold diced apples into the batter, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
  8. Drizzle the glaze generously over the cooled blondies. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the batter to keep the blondies soft and fudgy.’, ‘Use fresh, firm apples for the best texture.’, ‘Rotate the pan halfway through baking for even cooking.’, ‘Adjust glaze consistency by adding powdered sugar or milk as needed.’, ‘Using parchment paper ensures easy removal of blondies from the pan.’]
