Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Green sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Halloween-themed candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Prepare the frosting by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add green food coloring until vibrant.
  9. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped off.
  10. Pipe the green frosting onto each cookie to resemble bubbling brew spilling out of a cauldron.
  11. Decorate with mini marshmallows, sprinkles, and Halloween candies.
