  • 12 slices cooked bacon
  • 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
  • 4 large leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic mayo spread: In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well until smooth. Chill in the fridge for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway. Drain on paper towels and keep skillet warm.
  3. Butter the bread: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  4. Toast the bread: Place bread slices butter-side down on the skillet over medium heat. Toast for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip briefly to toast the other side for 30 seconds if desired. Remove and set aside.
  5. Assemble the sandwich layers: Lay one slice of toasted bread (toasted side up). Spread a tablespoon of garlic mayo on top. Add 2 slices turkey, 3 slices bacon, a leaf of lettuce, two tomato slices, and a slice of cheddar cheese if using. Top with a second slice of toasted bread, spread mayo again, and repeat layers.
  6. Stack the club: Add one more toasted bread slice with mayo, then repeat turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese layers. Finish with a final slice of toasted bread.
  7. Cut and serve: Cut the sandwich diagonally into quarters using a sharp serrated knife. Secure each quarter with a toothpick if needed. Serve immediately while warm and crunchy.

Notes

Chill the garlic mayo to meld flavors. Use thick-cut bread for best texture. Toast bread with butter for golden crispness. Avoid overcrowding bacon in pan. Store sandwich wrapped tightly and reheat in toaster oven or skillet to keep crisp.
