A tangy, zesty, and slightly spicy Louisiana remoulade sauce that pairs perfectly with seafood, fries, sandwiches, and more. Quick, easy, and customizable to suit your taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Creole mustard (or spicy brown mustard as a substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (e.g., Louisiana hot sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles (or sweet pickles as a substitute)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the pickles and mince the garlic. Set these aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Creole mustard, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in the hot sauce, lemon juice, paprika, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Gently stir in the chopped pickles and minced garlic, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning. Add more hot sauce or cayenne for extra heat, or more mayonnaise if it’s too tangy.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  7. Serve chilled with your favorite seafood dish or as a dipping sauce.

Notes

[‘Let the sauce chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.’, ‘Use fresh ingredients like freshly squeezed lemon juice and freshly minced garlic for the best flavor.’, ‘Adjust the spice level to your preference by adding more hot sauce or cayenne pepper.’, ‘For a thinner consistency, add a splash of water or milk.’]
