Tender, golden-brown chicken breasts nestled in a luxurious, velvety whiskey cream sauce, perfect for cozy dinners or entertaining guests.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • All-purpose flour for dredging
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup Irish whiskey
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Lightly dredge them in all-purpose flour, shaking off the excess.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the chopped shallots and minced garlic. SautΓ© for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  4. Pour in 1/3 cup of Irish whiskey, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to cook off the alcohol.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of chicken broth and 1 cup of heavy cream. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  6. Place the seared chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Cover and let them simmer for another 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165Β°F (74Β°C).
  7. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
